Graduates

Think you have to head to London, Leeds or Manchester to get ahead in your law career?

Think again.

We are one of East Yorkshire’s leading legal firms, and we hand pick the best young talent from across the region and beyond. High performing graduates come to us to take advantage of real opportunities to develop their skills, build a successful career and rise to the top of the profession.

Whilst we are a small to medium size firm, the high value, high complexity work we undertake enables us to punch above our apparent weight. That means that what we are looking for in potential trainee solicitors is no different from what the London and regional heavyweights are looking for.

Join our firm as a trainee, and you will not be making up the numbers – you will be making a real impact, taking on responsibility, and building the relationships needed to succeed and helping our clients achieve the right outcomes.

What you can expect:

Training contracts (period of recognised training) at our firm are challenging and rewarding in equal measure.

We don’t expect you to know it all already, in fact, your development is a key priority for us. Over a two-year period, you will benefit from a thorough grounding in every aspect of our practice. Constantly learning, you will be shadowing experienced solicitors and working as an integral part of a close-knit team to develop essential skills and build relationships.

You will be dealing directly with clients, and playing a big part in our firm, taking on responsibilities that make a real difference. With a great variety of clients working across a huge range of industries, you will gain the strong foundation of knowledge needed to succeed in any department.

There is no glass ceiling here – we want staff to stay with us for the long term.

Your hard work, talent and dedication will be recognised and rewarded, and the best candidates will have real opportunities to progress in the firm. We enjoy excellent staff retention, and many of our directors started out as trainees.

Applications:

If you would like to be considered for a training contract, then apply by handwritten letter and a supporting CV, addressed to the Human Resources Manager. All applications are acknowledged on receipt. Training contract applications should be received before 31 July for training contracts starting 2 years hence.
