Upon coming to SJP, I was greeted by the entire compensation team and members from other departments, which immediately made me feel welcome. At no point did I feel uncomfortable, and everyone was happy to give a helping hand when needed.

Initially, I expected to meet the firm and complete exercises, testing me on certain aspects of the law. However, the placement at SJP was so much more than that. Donna and Fran helped me understand the foundations of SJP, and how they delve beyond the law to help other individuals. SJP Law organise events and connects with charities that directly helps individuals that suffer from life threatening injuries, putting them first.

Additionally, instead of just testing me on the law, they created worksheets that helped me understand the daily workings of a solicitor, from pre-action protocol to the final judgement. A key aspect was understanding when and how to instruct Medical Experts to assess a case, and which specialist to use.

My time at SJP Law has confirmed that I want to pursue a career in compensation, in particularly clinical negligence.
