About Us

SJP office

Our roots might go back 150 years but the firm is noted for being in the vanguard of modernisation of the legal profession, being one of the first to adopt computerisation and regularly having partner visits to the USA to keep abreast of legal practice development.

Much of the success of recent years is attributable to the recruitment of experienced non-legal professionals in key areas such as financial management, marketing management, information technology and human resources.

We developed management disciplines through independently assessed quality standards, such as legal aid franchises, and the whole firm voted to go for Investors in People accreditation.

Good communication, both within the firm and between the firm and its clients, is at the heart of our management culture. We agree with clients what we are going to do and how much it is going to cost. The cost implication of any changes, by the client or ourselves, is indicated at the outset and, where changes are made, flagged up along the way.
